Medicare, Fees and Rebates

Fees

Individual counselling is $230 for a 60 minute session and group sessions are $45 for 60 minute session.  

Medicare

Under Medicare, individuals are entitled to 20 rebated sessions per year.To access the Medicare rebate, a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is required. This can be obtained by a referral from your Paediatrician, General Practitioner or Psychiatrist.

The Medicare rebate for Dr Karen Burns is $89.65 for individual sessions and $22.90 for group sessions.

Private Health Insurance

Provided you have EXTRAS cover, you can make a claim against your private health insurance. Please note as all health funds differ, it is best to contact them directly to discuss your rebate.

Cancellations

There is a 24-hour cancellation policy. Clients who do not cancel within 24 hours of their appointment will be charged 100% of the session fee. A reminder text will be sent 48 hours before a scheduled appointment.
